Guidelines
for Separating Siblings
In
her book A Child's Journey Through Placement, Vera Fahlberg advises
social workers to consider separating siblings when keeping them together
would
- interrupt a normal parent-child relationship
- mean that one child would not get his needs
met
- maintain a destructive relationship even
after attempts to normalize it
- threaten someone's safety.
